Department Stores
I went to John Lewis and Selfridges in Oxford Street to see what brands of fountain pens they had. My photoshoot is aimed at the older generation and the people that are going to spend money on fountain pens tend to be wealthy. I looked carefully at the colours of the pens and their style to see if it went with the concept of my photoshoot. I want to get pens that are Black, Gold, Silver or Grey to try and make my photoshoot sophisticated. Bold colours on fountain pens make them look cheap. I found more of a variety of pens in John Lewis I found brands such as:
- Cross
- Waterman
- Parker
- Sheaffer
I also found some ink that I thought would look good in my photoshoot. By going to the department stores and looking at the pens, it helped me see what ranges of fountain pens that are being sold.
When coming out of John Lewis I decided that I wanted the following pens for my photoshoot.
- Cross Bailey Light Glossy Fountain Pen, Grey
- Waterman Essential Fountain Pen, Silver/Gold
- Parker Metal Trim Fountain Pen, Black/Gold
- Cross Lacquer Fountain Pen, Black/Silver
